How to make a lightbox.

I wasn't quite sure what I should write about today. I know I wanted to speak about Sponsoring my blog but I didn't just want to it be about that. So of course Ryan(my boyfriend) suggested I speak about my light box. I had to mention him because he wanted credit for giving me the idea.

I have been trying my best to get my pictures uniform for my shop. It really isn't an easy task especially for someone with limited skills. So someone and by someone I mean Kristen from MiloandMolly suggested I get a lightbox. So Googled for the best tutorial but what I really wanted was a video. I've tried tutorials before and they have always failed.

I found this really awesome video and uses basic things you have around the house to make a lightbox. I actually didn't have a box or poster board so I went out to Office Depot and bought some.

So..I actually made 2 boxes because the first one on the right was too small.

Now, lets see about pictures.

This is the picture of one of my pleated pouches in the large lightbox. It looks great but I needed to crop it so you don't see it's in an actual box.

Wow..that instantly looks even better but Tiffany from In a Pretty Box actually suggested I play with colors and temperature o the photo using PicMonkey. This is to get it as bright and clear as possible.

So booyahh.. even better.

Now, I plan to spend  my time before work taking and editing pictures.

Also, if you are interested in Sponsoring my blog check out the page here. There are also opportunities for an ad swap and all you need is the code eyelahswap. Since spaces are limited you want to hurry up before they all run out!

Have a Happy Friday!!

  2. Very clever, Eyelah! I use PicMonkey a lot :)
I once made a light box from styrofoam, but I didn't like how my products turned out. Anyway, most of my products are too large for a light box, so a white wall will have to do!

  3. That's a good, informative video :)
I made a box like that with the cutouts -- I never could find a really good place for it, so now I use white poster board in a bookshelf with shop lights trained on the shelf! I use Picasa for editing and storage and then enhance some pics with FotoFuze or PicMonkey if I want a little extra something!

  10. I've had it in the back of my brain to try a light box pretty much since I opened up shop a long time ago...and I never have. Glad to see that you were able to make one fairly easily.
Also, I have that clutch in my favs. I think I already told you I'm loving the pleats. :)

  11. Oh, hi Ryan! :)

I've been in the mood to reshoot most things in my shop (much like you, to unify the look) but the task seems so daunting...
Luckily, I already have a lightbox of sorts laying around. I made it out of rigid mailer, for a paper scene I blogged about last December.

Nothing like a well lit picture —yours looks fantastic!

  15. That's pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing, Eyelah! Usually I have to wait for the sun to give me the best natural light possible...but the light box is convenient anytime of the day!!!
